November 23 - Jazz pianist/composer/producer - Rika MuranakaTokyo native Rika Muranaka came to Chicago to study jazz piano with Alan Swain while still in her teens. Her talents were quickly recognized, and soon Rika was working with some of the most highly regarded figures in the jazz world including Woody Shaw, Stan Kenton, Art Blakey, Freddy Hubbard, Gerald Albright, Kevin Eubanks, Hubert Laws.Rika has also composed and produced themes for some of video game giant Konami's top AAA games. Yes, that is Rika's music you hear on the video games Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, and Sons of Liberty.
